REWARD INCREASED UP TO $35,000 AND Public’s Assistance Needed with the Areyelle Yarbrough Homicide Investigation
Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, that claimed the
life of 32-year-old Areyelle Yarbrough.
Just after 7:00 p.m., BPD Officers responded to W.C. Patton Park (1200 Sipsey Street) after gunfire erupted. Upon arrival, officers discovered Areyelle Yarbrough lying on the ground near her vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Areyelle Yarbrough succumbed to her injuries on the scene. Five other community members, ages 21, 17, 16, 15 and 5 years old, were wounded by gunfire.
