On March 11, 2021, approximately 11:00 pm, a wreck reportedly occurred at the intersection of 25th Street and 10th Avenue.  Responding officers with Bessemer PD arrived to find a utility pole had been struck, but found no vehicle.  At 11:17 pm officers in the area were directed to a nearby alley off of 25th Street where they found a black male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The pictured victim, later identified as Andrew Minter, died at this location.  According to report officers were advised that the victim was driving a tanned color Buick LeSabre in the area while being chased by unidentified black males in another vehicle, resulting in him crashing into a utility pole.  Shots were reported in the area at approximately 10:50 pm.  A witness reported seeing a white older model two-door Chevrolet near the downed post during this time frame, along with a burgundy sports car with a tan top, an older model blazer-type SUV, and a black sedan that circled the block several times.  The white Chevrolet was stopped, possibly stuck, and several subjects were walking around it as if they were looking for something.  The victim’s vehicle was removed from the scene prior to arrival by officers.
