The grieving widow of a trucker killed in a horrific crash on Interstate 59/20 is upping the reward to find the motorist who launched the chain reaction that left her husband dead.
Charles Eugene Pearce Jr., a 59-year-old Gulf Shores man and former U.S. Marine, died Oct. 6, 2020 in Birmingham. His wife, Marti, is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads the identity of the driver who fled the scene after the crash. Crime Stoppers is also offering up to $5,000 so the total reward could be as high as $10,000.
