The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

The victim has been identified as:
Micah Honor, (24), B/M, of Adamsville, Alabama


At approximately 3:20 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a Traffic Accident in the 2000 Block of Warrior Road. A second call came in stating the driver of one of the wrecked vehicles was shot. Officers arrived on the scene and then observed the victim in a wrecked black sedan; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the following:
We believe that an unknown suspect fired shots into the victim’s vehicle in the 2100 Block of Bessemer Road. After being shot, the victim drove onto Warrior Road where his vehicle collided with a second vehicle. The victim’s vehicle then collided with a nearby construction fence at a set of abandoned apartments. The occupants of the second vehicle were not injured.
Currently, we believe the victim was targeted. There is no one in custody.
