The Birmingham Police Department is now conducting a homicide investigation after the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy in an unclassified
death investigation (Media Release 203).

The victim has been identified as:
Darrius Dewayne Brown, (33), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene and then took care and custody of the victim. The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy on the victim, revealing the victim had been shot. Darrius Brown was previously a Missing Persons case with BPD.
