The Birmingham Police department is conducting a homicide investigation concerning the death of D’Anthony Dejuan Jones. In the early morning hours on August 20, 2024, D’Anthony Dejuan Jones was sitting in the passenger seat of a car in the 2100 block of Avenue I in Ensley when someone fired several shots into the car. Mr. Jones was struck by the gunfire and later pronounced deceased at UAB Hospital.
