Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Help from the Public on an unsolved Hit and Run Case

According to police reports, Erik LaShane Gunn was fatally struck by a driver that fled the scene on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025. The crash happened at 11:51 p.m. on Center Point Parkway between 36th Avenue and Houston Road. Gunn was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:02 a.m.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said no arrests have been made and that the investigation is ongoing. Family members of Mr. Gunn are also searching for answers after he was killed. Mr. Gunn is pictured below.
