The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
The victim has been identified as: Jeffrey Pleasant, (40), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 12:50 AM, West Precinct officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 Block of Carline Avenue on report of a Person Shot.
Officers arrived on the scene and entered the residence when they observed the victim unresponsive in a room suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests there was a small party at the residence. The victim and a separate male were involved in an argument that led to shots being fired
and the victim being struck by gunfire. There is no one in custody.
