Birmingham Detectives Need Information Regarding a Cold Case Homicide

According to detectives with Birmingham PD Ashley Lane was found lying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of 50th Street North on Tuesday May 14, 2013, at approximately 5:40 am.  She had been shot and was the apparent victim of a homicide. At approximately 1:38 am on the same date BPD officers were dispatched to this vicinity on a report of shots fired, but found nothing at that time.  A friend of the victim staying at a nearby motel reported hearing a gunshot in the area on this day at approximately 4:00 am.  According to detectives the victim was a sex worker that frequented the area where she was killed.   If you know anything about this crime please contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama.  You remain anonymous and the information you provide to Crime Stoppers leading to the charge and arrest of an identified suspect could result in a cash reward up to $5,000.
