On September 25, 2021, approximately 9:37 am, Birmingham PD officers responded to report of a person down in the 3900 block of Mineral Avenue Southwest.  Upon arrival officers found an unresponsive male victim, later identified as Marion Reynolds Jr. (pictured), lying on his back in the middle of the roadway and suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Persons living in the community advised detectives that the victim would routinely walk his dog in the area between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.  The victim reportedly had no conflict with anyone in the community and there is no known reason for why the shooting occurred.  Detectives would like anyone having any information regarding this case to share what is known.
