On May 9, 2021, approximately 2:30 pm, a homicide occurred in the 300 block of Valley Road in Fairfield.  The pictured victim, identified as 31-year-old Douglas MacArthur Crenshaw, was a passenger in a black 2018 Dodge Charger stopped at a red light when an unidentified assailant pulled alongside it in a white SUV (possibly a Toyota 4-Runner), and shot him several times.  The location where the shooting occurred is the intersection of Valley Road and Gary Avenue near a Citgo station right off Interstate I-20/59 in Fairfield.
