According to a report filed with the Homewood Police Department, on February 14, 2026, around 1:45pm a shooting occurred on Interstate 65 north between Lakeshore Drive and Oxmoor Road involving a silver Kia sedan unknown tag number shooting at another silver sedan. As a result of the shooting a round entered a Mercedes SUV.
