205-254-7777Detectives request assistance from the public in obtaining information in the Kiara Holcomb homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, July 8, 2022.
At approximately 6:07 pm, South Precinct officers were dispatched to Center Street and 4th Avenue Southwest on report of a person shot. Upon arrival officers observed Kiara Holcomb suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was leaving a residence when a masked gunman approached her vehicle and fired multiple rounds fatally wounding the victim. Detectives believe the victim was targeted.
Currently, there is no one in custody.
