The Birmingham Police Department is conducting an investigation following a shooting that occurred on Thursday, May 27, 2026. Around 7:50 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to the 3200 Block of Aspen Avenue on a report of multiple shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they were informed that there were two victims shot at
the location, and a third individual that was shot but driven to the hospital by private vehicle.
BFRS transported one juvenile male to children’s hospital whose condition is believed to be critical, but stable. Also, an adult female was transported to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The third individual, which is a possible suspect, received non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that multiple rounds were fired at location, and the suspect(s) fled the scene in a vehicle that left travelling in an unknown
direction. Officers communicated with canvassing officers and multiple suspects and persons of interest were located and apprehended after attempting to elude. They were transported to the Birmingham Police Headquarters for questioning.
This is an ongoing investigation.
