The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, November 27, 2023.

The victim has been identified as:
Reginald Bryant, (52), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Just before 4 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Shots Fired call in the 500 Block of Closhire Lane. Officers arrived on the scene and then observed the victim lying unresponsive in the back of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was at a residence in the 500 Block of Closhire Lane when he was approached by multiple suspects. One or more of the suspects fired shots at the victim. We believe the victim was targeted. There is no one in custody.
